I used the Under The Misletoe Fairy on a birthday card I made for Natalie's teacher. I just love this little gal (even though she takes forever to draw with all that detail!).

You...
I just had to bust Spike out while making some birthday cards last week. His crazy eyes and striped tounge never cease to make me giggle just a little bit.
You can't really tell in the photo but I used a dot of Crystal Effects on both of his eyes to give him a tiny bit more manical look. I had fun pairing some funky paper (which is embossed in real life) and some giant star brads with this little guy.
I know this post is reeeally short today but let me tell you, I have been very busy lately. Some days I don't know how I am going to get it all done. I think I've also been feeling a tad bit burnt out and of course, right when I *need* to take a break from crafting to let my creativity build back up, I just can't. Colin has been diagnosed with a speech problem and we've been working with him nightly AND Natalie has been having extra homework on top of us teaching her how to read. It's so much work!
I'm going to keep on trucking though :o)
Have a wonderful day everyone!
Love, Meli

Makeup For The Weekend...
Sketch challenges are some of my favorites...we all have the same bones to our cards but every one's interpretation is ALWAYS different. Plus, if I'm stuck in a stamping slump, sketches really help pull my mojo out and get me going again!
Above is my take on the Makeup For The Weekend Challenge this week. I found this image of adorable Elle the Easter Fairy in my stash and thought I'd use her for a birthday card...but since she's carrying an egg, I had to finesse it a little bit! I stamped out a present from another stamp set and cut her little arm out so I could make her hug it.
The colors are NOT colors I would normally use, but I thought I'd go out of my comfort zone a little bit and try something new :o)
Be sure to upload YOUR Weekend Makeup sketch cards to the Paper Makeup Stamps blog so we can all see and admire them!

A Recipe...
Our recipe for this month's release party challenge was:
Blush: use the color pink
Eyes: use the color black (like mascara)
Lips: use something shimmery/shiny (like lip gloss).
Use code PMSRP20 for your gallery keywords.
Here's my take! I used sweet Arianna with her frog. I love her big hair :o)
You have until MIDNIGHT TONIGHT to get YOUR card onto the Paper Makeup Stamps blog for a chance to win a stamp of your choice!

Moody Blog Hop....
Hopping in order is key to collecting your letters that spell out a phrase to give you an extra 15% off any order this week!
If you're just starting the hop, please start at the Paper Makeup Stamps Blog.
Today is our RELEASE DAY!
Whoo-hoo! All the stamps you've been admiring on the PMS Blog will FINALLY be available for purchase tonight...including our beautiful charity stamp for the Anderson Family:
Henry loved the zoo, he loved being outdoors, he loved the snow, comic books, Starwars. He was a fun loving 3 year old little guy.
It is our honor to release, Henry. A fairy playing in the snow and making a snow angel for his mama.

$2.50 from each sale of this stamp (whether in it's digi form, which is the cost of stamp minus the paypal fees) or in it's rubber form, will go directly to the Anderson family. This will help to build the memorial at the zoo or for any other means the family needs it to keep little Henry's memory alive and well for his little brother Jack.
And here is my card for today's hop, using my favorite stamp of the new release....the Moody For Fashion.
She really fits the *mood* I've been in the past month or so. I SO enjoyed coloring her beautiful outfit. I think she looks like a cameo pin, and that was how I tried to feature her on my card.
Be sure to join us at our Release Party at the forum for prizes, challenges and discounts! Now, the info you need!
